Overview

This trek is a more scenic and adventurous alternative to the classic Everest Base Camp (EBC) route. Instead of following only the busy Khumbu valley, it detours west to the stunning Gokyo Valley, famous for its turquoise glacial lakes, then crosses the Cho La Pass (5,420 m) to reconnect with the traditional EBC trail. It combines dramatic landscapes, fewer crowds, and a true high-mountain challenge.

Yes. The Cho La Pass makes it more demanding.
